LSCT welcomes the visit of Hanjin Senior Management

Mr Moo-Kyoon Oh, Executive Vice President / Container Liner Sales & Marketing Division Seoul, Mr. Seung-Min Park (Managing Director Hanjin Italy) and Mr. Andrea Della Casa (Head of Operations Hanjin Italy) were greeted by LSCT management team comprising of Managing Director Michele Giromini, Raffaello Cioni (Contship Italia Service Unit Commercial Director) Roberto Scotto (LSCT Customer Service manager) and Davide Romanengo (LSCT Operations Director).

During the visit in terminal, the guests were provided with the opportunity to witness how the “La Spezia System”, based on a positive cooperation amongst public and private port stakeholders, manages successfully all operational aspects involved in the business,  providing valued customers with an efficient gateway to main Italian and south European markets. LSCT is today fully integrated in the overall supply chain with seamless flows of goods that are everyday moved to and from inland destinations with an unmatched intermodal connectivity.

LSCT is not simply a terminal per se, but rather an all-round logistics platform fully integrated within a wider supply chain system. Over than 37% of the total LSCT throughput is being handled via 173 weekly trains, linking La Spezia to both key Italian and foreign markets, providing our valued customers to develop their own supply chain in an efficient, effective and eco-friendly way, with cargo immediately available for delivery upon discharge. 

Hanjin, a long term customer of LSCT since 1992, currently calls at the terminal with two Asian strings (CKYHE service Pacific-Med Pendulum PM1 and the China Med Network Service CMN through a slot charter agreement within the O3 Asia-Med service) and  with its  India – Mediterranean – USA service (IMU).

Coincidentally the ongoing crane redeployment program LSCT is now engaged with, meant that the delegation could also view the transfer of a crane out of service that will return as a revamped crane once upgraded to a 20 rows across standard during Q4.  As the crane redeployment program unfolds, by mid-June already LSCT berth capability will increase with both Fornelli East and Fornelli West able to accommodate 14.000 TEUs ships.

Our ongoing investment plan is aimed to improve our berth capability and ensure that we can berth simultaneously two 14.000 -16.000 TEUs ships. Yes, I can say we are ready for the future today!”
