Hannibal further increases the rail connectivity between Melzo and Rotterdam

Following the recent takeover of the long established ERS Melzo-Rotterdam rail service by Hannibal, the Group's Multimodal Transport Operator, Contship is proud to announce a further increase of the weekly connectivity of this connection.

From May 29th 2017, the number of Round Trips on the Melzo-Rotterdam service has been increased to 6 every week, thus confirming the positive acceptance of the new product by the market.

The service provides a fast link to the Rotterdam logistic hub, and extended connectivity from and to the United Kingdom, Ireland, Iceland, Scandinavia, the Baltic region and Russia. Northbound cargos are mostly composed by “Made in Italy” products, while southbound volumes are mostly represented by commodities.

Hannibal recently experienced an increasing demand for intra Europe trade during the Munich Transport Logistic exhibition, which further confirms the improved awareness by transporters and shippers about sustainable rail solutions available from and to RHM – Rail Hub Milano.

The Contship Italia Group is proud of this new solution, part of the intermodal service portfolio, and maintains its commitment towards rail service reliability and transparency, continuing to work to guarantee high standards and service levels, through a growing industrialization of all logistics processes.
