CICT: m/v Ningbo Express maiden call

First call at Cagliari International Container Terminal for Hapag Lloyd m/v Ningbo Express.

On Monday June 1st 2015 Cagliari International Container Terminal (CICT) welcomed the maiden call of the m/v Ningbo Express, a 7,506 TEUs ship deployed by German operator Hapag Lloyd along the Asia Suez Express (AZX), a service under the G6 agreement connecting South East Asia to the Middle East, the Mediterranean and the eastern coast of the United States. With a double weekly call in Cagliari – westbound and eastbound leg respectively – the service is now approaching a capacity upgrade, with m/v Ningbo Express currently being one the three largest units in the service fleet alongside sister ships m/v Dalian Express and Yantian Express. Berthed immediately upon arrival, operations on board m/v Ningbo Express concluded the same day, with the ship sailing from CICT at dusk. Following tradition, the personalized crest for the ship’s maiden call was presented to Captain Focko Osterkamp by CICT Customer Service Manager Leandro Ferrari.
