CICT continues to welcome ship capacity increase on AZX service

CICT maiden call for M/V Colombo Express, third 8,750 TEUs unit operated by Hapag Lloyd on the AZX service.

On August 24th, early morning, M/V Colombo Express (8,750 TEUs nominal capacity with a L.O.A. of 335 meters) was welcomed by Cagliari International Container Terminal on her maiden call on the G6 alliance service Asia Suez Express (AZX).

Following the arrival of M/V Budapest Express on July 30th and M/V Nagoya Express on August 4th, Contship Italia Sardinian transhipment HUB has now welcomed the third 8,750 TEUs unit operated by the German carrier Hapag Lloyd,  deployed in the AZX service.

The AZX service is undertaking a fleet capacity upgrade program, which, once completed, will bring the average ship size to nearly 8,100 TEUs.

M/V Colombo was berthed on arrival, sailing out from Cagliari on schedule heading to the East Coast of the United States.
